Microsoft have officially announced that NAV 18 will be unsupported as of 10th January 2023.

Although Dynamics NAV is no longer available for new customers, there are several versions still in mainstream support, such as Nav 18, which Microsoft has recently announced will be unsupported from 10th January 2023.

So what does this mean for existing users of Dynamics NAV 18?

Typically users have two options when facing end of support:

Keep your system up to date:

Ensuring your solutions has been upgraded to the latest cumulative update can extend the life of your solution, and by working with your support partner can buy you some more time.
However once your solution is past Microsoft’s extended support, it will only be a matter of time before upgrading is your only option.

Upgrade your ERP:

If your current system is going out of support, then considering an upgrade is a sensible option.
The obvious upgrade for users of Dynamics NAV is Dynamics 365 Business Central. Dynamics 365 Business Central is the next generation of Dynamics NAV. It is an entirely new product built in the cloud. The benefits of moving to a new system are substantial, as you can get new levels of access, intelligence, automation and integration. Upgrades and end-of-product support will become a thing of the past as Dynamics 365 Business Central comes with ongoing automatic updates, so your system never becomes outdated.
